Trump: The Elections Open a New Front in the Battle for Power

The November third midterm elections are expected to narrow Donald Trump’s scope for political dominance. The forecast points toward Republican losses and a stronger ability for Democrats to obstruct the presidential agenda, with the House of Representatives emerging as the President’s most vulnerable front. For the Senate, the same astrological picture does not support an equally clear assessment of a change in control.

The square from transiting Saturn in Aries to his natal Mercury in Cancer describes a period in which political pledges encounter institutional limits. Stricter congressional oversight, greater difficulty advancing economic measures, and sharper confrontation over the funding of government policies are predicted. Disagreements within the Republican camp itself may carry greater weight, as every crucial vote increases the negotiating power of individual lawmakers.

However, Jupiter in Leo is approaching Trump’s natal Mars, strengthening his inclination to counterattack. Trump is expected to respond to losses by rallying his base more forcefully, adopting an aggressive public presence, and attempting to regain the initiative. The same influence, however, increases the risk of excessive reactions and of taking on political commitments that will prove difficult to implement.

Retrograde Mercury in Scorpio adds the possibility of conflicting announcements, a reexamination of information, and disputes in closely contested races to the election period. Vote counting in certain crucial congressional races may remain unresolved beyond election night, prolonging the battle to shape public perceptions and intensifying pressure on party campaign teams.

The conjunction of Mars and Jupiter in Leo on November sixteenth takes place close to his natal Mars. The period surrounding this conjunction lends itself to a forceful intervention following the election, involving hard bargaining and moves carrying considerable political risk. On the international stage, domestic pressure may heighten the need to demonstrate resolve in trade and diplomatic negotiations.

The central prediction is a loss of congressional breathing room and the beginning of a prolonged institutional confrontation. The next phase of his presidency is expected to depend more heavily on fragile agreements, internal party balances, and continuous negotiations over the implementation of his decisions.
